Light The Road, Not The Sky.

I have an idea for a way headlights in automobiles should work.  Currently some higher-end cars have extremely bright headlights, blinding headlights.  Audi and some other car manufacturers even have headlights that corner turns with the steering.  I want to improve on this design.  Instead of moving headlights left and right, I want them to be able to focus in and out, as well as move up and down.

It would work like this:  The faster you drive, the further your lights focus.  It kind of acts like a mag light.  The truth is as you move faster, you need to see further ahead.  You need more time to react.

Then there is the reason for why your headlights would move up and down.  This is better illustrated in a drawing I have included (please see attached PDF).  When you stop at an intersection and the intersection road is higher than the road you are on, you are on an incline.  Now your super bright HID lights are blinding traffic because the front of your car is pointed toward the sky.  I would like the car to recognize when you have come to a stop, and react accordingly.  The headlights would equalize themselves with gravity, the same way a laser level works.  Now not only are you not blinding the cars facing you, but you are lighting the road.
